Test Cases

Create, organize, and manage your test case library. Build reusable test specifications with steps, priorities, and custom fields.

Page Layout

The Test Cases page uses a three-panel layout designed for efficient navigation and editing.

Left Panel

Folder and suite tree navigation. Resize the panel by dragging its border to fit your workflow.

Middle Panel

Test cases list with inline filters. Browse, search, and select cases from the currently selected folder or suite.

Right Panel

Selected case details and editor. View and edit all fields, steps, and metadata for the active test case.

Folder & Suite Organization

Organize your test cases into a hierarchical structure using folders and suites. The tree supports two types of nodes:

  • Folders- Containers that can hold other folders, suites, and test cases. Use them to create a logical hierarchy for your test library.
  • Suites- Test groupings that sit inside folders. Suites represent a related set of test cases.

Drag and drop cases between folders to reorganize your library. Each folder supports rich-text descriptions and customizable display ordering so you can present cases in the sequence that makes the most sense for your team.

Case Fields

Every test case includes a set of built-in fields plus project-specific custom fields. Together they capture all the information needed to describe a test.

  • Title- A descriptive test case name that identifies the scenario under test.
  • Priority- Ranges from P0 (Critical) through P4 (Low) to indicate importance.
  • Status- Configurable status values with colors, defined in your project settings.
  • Tags- Color-coded labels for categorizing and filtering test cases.
  • Automation flag- Mark a case as automated or manual to track automation coverage.
  • Custom fields- Project-specific fields defined in Settings to capture additional metadata.
  • Description- A rich text area for providing context, preconditions, and background information.

Steps Editor

Define step-by-step test instructions that guide testers through execution. Each step consists of an action describing what to do and an expected result describing the correct outcome. Steps support rich text formatting so you can include links, bold text, and inline images where needed.

Reorder steps via drag-and-drop to adjust the test flow without recreating entries. Add, remove, or edit individual steps at any time.

Search & Filtering

Quickly find the cases you need using the built-in search and filter controls.

  • Full-text search- Search across case titles to locate specific tests instantly.
  • Multi-tag search- Enter multiple search terms to find cases matching any combination of keywords.
  • Field filters- Filter by priority, status, tags, automation flag, and custom fields to narrow results.

Results update in real-time as you type, so there is no need to press Enter or click a search button.

Bulk Operations

Select multiple test cases using checkboxes to perform actions in batch.

Bulk Delete

Remove selected cases from your library in a single action.

Bulk Clone

Duplicate selected cases to the same folder or a different one, preserving all fields and steps.

Bulk Edit

Update fields across multiple cases at once- change priority, status, tags, or custom fields in batch.

Import

Import test cases from CSV or JSON files to quickly populate your library. During import you can map columns from your file to test case fields, making it easy to bulk-create cases from existing spreadsheets or exported data from other tools.

Drag-and-Drop

The Test Cases page supports intuitive drag-and-drop interactions throughout the interface.

  • Move between folders- Drag cases in the tree to reorganize them across folders and suites.
  • Add to collections- Drag cases directly into test collections to include them in manual execution sessions.

Visual feedback during drag operations shows exactly where cases will land, so you can organize with confidence.

Archive & Restore

Instead of permanently deleting test cases, you can soft-delete them to the archive. Archived cases are removed from the active tree but remain accessible in the Archive tab, where you can browse, search, and restore them back to their original location at any time.

Tip: Archiving is non-destructive. You can always restore cases from the Archive tab.
